Her love of working with students prompted Melanie to further her own education and in December 2008 she received her Master of Arts in School Counseling. She is a member of several professional associations including the Western Association of College Admission Counseling and the Higher Education Consultants Association. Melanie is also a non-fiction freelance writer and her stories have been featured in both national and local publications.
The StudentMelanie understands just how important it is to learn about her students, their personalities, their interests and their beliefs; in other words, those critical factors that help determine not only the best way to work with her students, but also to help her students through the college admissions process and ultimately lead to finding the “best” school for them.
The Student’s FamilySince all students are part of a “family,” in whatever way that can be defined, Melanie thinks that the needs and concerns of family members are of great value and can play a vital role in a student’s success as they navigate the college admissions process and evaluate college choices. That’s why Melanie believes college admissions counseling is a ”family affair.”
